Yellow Submarine CAKE

Jenelle made this cake for a friend’s son’s first birthday party. She’s getting really good at this sort of thing. I am more than happy to watch Eliana while she makes these fancy cakes. 🙂

Opening Day

Baseball season is here! I usually root for the Brewers, and Jenelle usually cheers on the Cubs. Which team is Eliana backing? This photo might give you some indication.

Singing and Swinging

While I don’t belong on American Idol, I can bring a smile to my daughter’s face with a song.

The song is “Hosanna” by Paul Baloche, which I am playing at church with the worship band tomorrow.

Dedication Time!

We dedicated baby Eliana at Kenosha Bible Church this past Sunday. Also dedicated that day was baby Jesse, the third son of our friends Janet & Jamie. Here’s a video of both dedications. Pastor Jim G. did a great job!

More Eliana photos and video!

What? February is almost over? Wow. I’ll eventually have some content from the amazing blizzard which started off the month, but all I can give you right now is more of Eliana.

Here’s photos from the last four weeks or so on our Shutterfly page.

And here’s a video from this morning. Enjoy!

Getting Clean in Style

We just finished an update to our master bathroom. The shower, which used to be a fiberglass stall, is now done with tile and a clear glass enclosure. There’s a lot more room, and it looks way better than it did before.

We were originally planning to start this project on December 8th — which turned out to be the day after Eliana was born. We ended up starting the project in early January. It took about a week and a half for the main portion of the work to be done, which consisted of demolition, moving the shower head to the left side, carpentry, and tile work. Then we just had to wait a week or so for the custom glass to arrive. We also painted the ceiling and a couple of the walls.

Below are the before and after pictures. Check out the full photo album to watch things progress day by day.

Seven Weeks Old

We’re trying something new tonight! Here’s a video from Tuesday, which was seven weeks after she was born.

Winter Zooms Along

The three of us are doing great!  Here’s an album with some more Eliana photos.  She will be seven weeks old tomorrow.  Her next official weigh-in is next week, but we think she’s already surpassed eight pounds.

New Feature: QuickPix

I just added another page to the top horizontal bar of benandjenelle.com.  It’s QuickPix, a page with lots of unique photos I’ve snapped with my cell phone.  Check it out!

Baby’s First Christmas, Part 2

Lots more photos here!

Happy New Year!  If the past week is any indication, 2011 is going to be an eventful year for us.  Here’s the highlights of our holiday gatherings:

Christmas Day (Dec. 25): Jenelle, Eliana, and I went to the airport to pick up Jenelle’s parents, who flew in from Oregon.  We parked the car so that we could see Dave & Pam the moment they got past the security checkpoint.  This was Dave’s first opportunity to meet Eliana, and he was quite thrilled.  Eliana must also have been excited, as she had a “present” of her own to share.  Babies have incredible timing.  We spent the rest of the day at home relaxing.  We opened a few presents, but the big party was a few days later.

December 27: We spent most of the day planning and preparing for the big gathering that would happen the next day.  Andrew, Holly, Ella, and Lily came over in the evening for a short visit.  They all enjoyed meeting and holding Eliana.  I got at least one picture of each of them.

December 28: This was the big gathering with Jenelle’s parents, my parents, Andrew, Holly, Ella, Lily, and Kellan.  We had a wonderful time opening presents, which were plentiful.  We followed that up with a tasty Christmas dinner — thanks to Pam for all her hard work on that.

December 31: I took Dave & Pam to the airport in the early morning hours.  It was sad to see them go, but we were very thankful for the time they got to spend with us.  Our New Year’s Eve was not as exciting as in some years past, but we enjoyed the time to ourselves.  It was nice to have a break from all the family excitement.

Just in case you missed the photo album link above, here it is one more time.  Christmas photos with Ben, Jenelle, and Eliana (mostly Eliana).
