Watch out for Ivan

I spend an inordinate amount of time looking at hurricane forecasts even though I live far from the Atlantic coast. It's interesting that, with all the technology we have today, we haven't found a way to reduce the huge impact of tropical storms. My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone whose lives have been altered because of hurricanes, especially those affected by Charley and Frances.

Things haven't been too exciting over the past week or so, but that's no excuse for not posting in a while. I had a fun time on Thursday afternoon -- I took Grandpa Nick to the horse racing track at Arlington. We both did okay. On Sunday, we gathered to visit my cousin Todd, who made a trip up from his current residence in Texas. It's always nice to visit with one of the groomsmen at my wedding. I just realized that all of my groomsmen live outside of Wisconsin. Maybe I need more friends. :)

I can't promise that I'll post more frequently in the days to come, but I do promise some more exciting stuff to appear here or on the main site within the next few weeks.
